Wirral water supplies restored

Wirral water supplies restored

21 May 2010

Statement timed at 6pm

Supplies to the final 6,000 customers who were without water in the Wirral have now been restored, United Utilities has confirmed.

Some customers may experience lower than normal pressure levels for a short time. This is temporary and pressure levels should return to normal within the next couple of hours.

Some customers may also experience discoloured water, which can result after a leak has been repaired. This is caused by naturally occuring sediment which has been disturbed. It will clear by gently running the tap.

United Utilities would like to apologise to customers affected by this incident. Our engineers have worked throughout the day to restore their supplies but we appreciate how difficult it must have been.

Compensation payments will be automatically sent to affected customers within the next two weeks, they do not need to call us.
