Ellesmere Port water works to get under way

05 May 2010

Work to improve Ellesmere Port's water network will soon be under way thanks to United Utilities.

The Cheshire-based company will be replacing an old cast-iron water main which runs along Crescent Lane with a modern plastic one.

The work, which is designed to improve the overall reliability of the water network and reduce the risk of leakage, is expected to take up to two weeks to complete.

For safety reasons on-road parking will be temporarily restricted where work is evident.

Local residents are being asked to please make alternative parking arrangements during this time.

John Maher, United Utilities' Project Engineer, said: "We will do our best to complete this work with the minimal amount of disruption.

"We apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused and we thank local residents for their patience and understanding whilst this work is carried out."
