An £8 million project to improve the reliability of Liverpool's sewer network is now entering its fourth phase.
Engineers working on behalf of United Utilities are currently carrying out work to lay and upgrade sewer pipes in Dumbrees Road, Feltwood Road, Playfield Road, Mab Lane and Deysbrook Lane.
The phase is expected to take three weeks to complete.
Carly Ratcliffe, United Utilities' Project Manager, said: "This essential work will help towards preventing sewer flooding to properties in Deysbrook Lane, Mab Lane, Dumbrees Road and Feltwood Road during heavy storms.
"During this phase of work we will be laying sewer pipes from the junction of Chelsea Court with Deysbrook Lane up to the junction of Mab Lane with Deysbrook Lane.
"Whilst the work on Deysbrook Lane is being carried out the road will be closed to through traffic from the junction of Baycliff Road with Deysbrook Lane to the junction of Mab Lane with Deysbrook Lane.
"This traffic management plan has been implemented in agreement with the local council and we will ensure that pedestrian access will be maintained at all times."
Carly and the team will continue to keep local residents informed via letter with details of subsequent phases of work needed to complete the project.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this work may cause and we thank residents for their continued patience and understanding," said Carly.
This project is part of United Utilities' £2.9 billion water quality and environmental improvement programme for 2005-2010.
