Weather update: water & electricity supplies in your area

05 January 2010

We are currently experiencing high call volumes from the public due to the severe inclement weather conditions across the county.

We wish to reassure everyone that all known incidents are being responded to by engineers in priority order. Our water and wastewater treatment facilities and electricity services are fully operational.

If you have already reported a concern with your water, wastewater or electricity, there is no need to continue telephoning our call centres; all calls will receive an appropriate response from a qualified engineer. Our engineers will, however, take a little longer to drive their vehicles along snowy and freezing roads.

Where practical, our trained operational staff are providing advice over the telephone from our call centres.

Regular updates are being placed on our website http://unitedutilities.com/Emergencies.htm regarding any ongoing incidents and estimated times to resolve them.

By ensuring we focus on urgent calls we continue to maintain and support the water and electricity networks across the North West.

We would like to thank the public for their co-operation and understanding during the next few days
