Chester set to benefit from sewer improvements

19 August 2009

United Utilities will soon be carrying out improvements to Chester's sewer network.

The water company will begin working on an existing sewer situated on Arrowcroft Road in the Guilden Sutton area as part of its £2.9 billion water quality and environmental improvement programme for 2005-2010 from Monday, August 24.

The work, which is expected to take three weeks to complete, will see Arrowcroft Road closed to through traffic from the junction with School Lane to its junction with Hilltop Road.

Access from School Lane to Arrowcroft Road and Hilltop Road will be available via Oaklands.

Pedestrian access will be maintained for local residents at all times.

Jeannette Siddall from United Utilities said: "We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience this work may cause, which is designed to improve the overall reliability of the local sewer network."
