15 October 2008

United Utilities Water PLC (A3, stable; A-, stable) has today (15 October 2008) received £50 million from the European Investment Bank ("EIB") representing a 12 year loan granted by the bank.

This represents the first tranche of a £200m loan facility signed on 30 September 2008, which the EIB agreed to provide to support United Utilities Water's current 5 year capital investment programme, known as AMP4.  The £200m facility is itself the first part of £400m approved by the bank to support United Utilities Water's AMP4 programme.
